Main Screen
In this screen you can maintain a dead reckoning position, based on your most recent fix by ticking Continuous real-time DR, or by clicking on Set Date/Time and entering the time that you want your position updated to.
To take a sight with the sextant., either use your DR position or, to plan a sight in advance, set the date and time, and your predicted position at that time, and then click on Astro Observation to go through to the next screen, where you identify the body you want to take a sight on.
Clicking on Costal Observation gives you a line of position (LOP) by taking a compass bearing on an object in the list of coastal objects, which you can also edit from the Coastal Observation screen.
To view the sight log, click on View previous positions, and a dialog box will show details of all of the sights you have taken.
